The children and community of St Benedict’s Primary School in Glasgow focused their almsgiving on supporting The Simon Community to help raise awareness of the charity’s work in Scotland.
Since 1963, the Simon Community have been working to alleviate the isolation of people sleeping rough to provide a place where they can gain a sense of belonging and foster skills that they need to move towards independent living. They are a community of homeless people and volunteers living and working together in a spirit of love, acceptance, tolerance and understanding.
The children and their families generously donated items to help support the charity and to those who use the service throughout Lent. The Simon Community were incredibly grateful for the kindness shown by St Benedict’s Primary School and look forward to continuing to support the charity in the future.
