A large number of teachers of Religious Education in Catholic secondary schools enjoyed a fruitful day of reflection and shared learning in the Conforti Institute on Wednesday 22nd May. The day’s course, organised by the National Diocesan R.E. Advisers, and led by Barbara Coupar, opened with some input from Patricia Watson on Education Scotland’s current Curriculum Impact Project relating to Religous Education. Archbishop Philip Tartaglia offered a fascinating reflection on the New Evangelisation as it affected teachers and schools. During the rest of the day, participants took part in a variety of workshops featuring aspects of good classroom practice.
