Launch of This Is Our Faith – Senior Phase

Secondary Head Teachers, Heads of R.E. Departments and Diocesan R.E. staff are invited to the Launch of This Is Our Faith – Senior Phase in the Emirates Arena Glasgow on Thursday 29^th October from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

Since the 2011 publication of This Is Our Faith – the Church’s national R.E. Syllabus for P1 to S3 – work has been undertaken to develop a Senior Phase syllabus which will ensure continuity and progression in learning.  In the final term of last session our Senior Phase syllabus received a ‘Decree of Recognitio’ from the Holy See’s Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelisation.  This means that the Holy See has validated the contents of the syllabus as being faithful to Church teaching.  In recognition of the significance of this event – both nationally and beyond these borders – the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland is keen to take the opportunity to ‘launch’ the syllabus, to stress its importance for Scotland’s Catholic schools and to demonstrate the nature of the support which is being offered to schools to support its implementation.
