For the first time at SLF a workshop on Catholic Religious Education will be presented. Excellent approaches to learning within RERCtakes place on 21 September 2011 from 9.30 to 10.15. It is being presented by a team of primary and secondary colleagues with relevant experience. The workshop will showcase a model of sharing RERC planning, assessment and moderation processes amongst primary & secondary staff. It aims to highlight how, by using This Is Our Faith, teachers can use one topic appropriately across different levels, ensuring progression, depth and breadth of learning. Workshop contributors will share how they planned lessons on ‘Holy Week’ together, incorporating manageable and enjoyable assessment techniques and how a combination of ‘in-school’ and ‘cross sector’ moderation helped to ensure that all 7 CfE curriculum design principles were in place. The examples being showcased have been awarded a National Assessment Resource “Quality Mark” by Education Scotland. Please book your place on this workshop now.
Among the Exhibitors will be Redemptorist Publications which will feature at Stand L17.They stock a huge range of resources that help with the teaching of Christianity in primary and secondary schools. Alongside the practical, innovative books they publish themselves, including “My Homework Diary” (containing the Gospel of the Sunday, prayers, reflections, puzzles, etc for each week), they stock assembly materials, DVDs, Cd’s, teaching aids, bibles and a selection of structured courses that offer teaching manuals and pupil booklets for all ages. 10% off orders and free samples available.
