A very successful conference was held in the impressive setting of Glasgow’s City Chambers on Saturday 1st December 2012 as a significant Scottish contribution to the importance of the Catholic Church’s Year of Faith.  The audience of 300, from across Scotland and beyond, showed their appreciation for the contributions of the main speakers: Cardinal George Pell, Archbishop of Sydney and Professor George Weigel, renowned author and commentator on Church matters.  To read the text of Cardinal Pell’s presentation, click here.

To complement the international speakers, some young Scots spoke of their involvement in various faith projects and movements.  Among them were two people who were involved in the Caritas Award.  Heather Black, a parishioner of St Mary’s Duntocher, was presented with the award in June 2012.  Catriona McAllister has been enrolled for the Caritas Award this year by her school, Notre Dame High School, Glasgow.
