Deus caritas est – God is love.

Building on the success of the Caritas Award scheme for final year students in secondary schools, the Junior Caritas Award will open the door of faith for pupils in Primary 6 & 7.  The award is being designed to encourage children to commit themselves to showing love of God through love of their neighbour in their daily lives.  Children will be helped to engage in faith witness activities in school, at home and in their parish.  They will also be helped to show their faith in prayer and to reflect on what they have learned about themselves and about their faith and values.

A discussion paper is being circulated among schools and parishes to gather views on the best ways for this scheme to develop.  This might be of particular interest to schools, Parent Councils, Parish Councils and Dioceses.

The discussion paper and response sheet can be downloaded using the attachments below. Alternatively, to give some feedback, you can complete this on-line survey:http://www.sces.uk.com/junior-caritas-award-survey

Responses should be returned to SCES as soon as possible and by Friday 7th June at the latest.
