SCES has established a group of parents from across the Dioceses in Scotland to promote the active involvement of parents in their children’s education in Catholic schools. The working group (PIWG) meets 4 times per school year and works to an action plan which is focussed on developing support  for parents, engaging with  their views on important issues and encouraging them to support the work of Catholic schools and parishes.

PIWG has organised a number of National Assemblies of Catholic School Parents to provide opportunities for parents to learn about and to express their views on the challenges facing parents ion Catholic schools.

PIWG has also developed a number of resources to support the work of Parent Councils in schools and of parents in their family settings.
