Had it not been for the current Covid-19 restrictions, we would have been holding our meeting for Caritas coordinators on Wednesday (16th September). In addition, as we approach the 1oth year of Caritas, we had planned to run a full day CLPL on the Caritas Award on September 22nd for some of our newer coordinators, potential future coordinators, and indeed anyone who is interested in Caritas.
At these meetings we would have gone over the thinking behind the award, the structures and delivery of the programme, and the requirements and arrangements for assessment and verification.
Clearly we cannot have such a meeting in the current situation, so we have taken all of the areas normally covered at this meeting, along with the most frequently raised questions and comments, and put them into a Professional Learning Activity which we hope will be useful for coordinators (especially those who are new to the role), future coordinators and any teacher who is interested in the award. Teachers can work through the PLA in a place and at a time that suits them, and the completion of this PLA can be recorded as part of their PRD process.
The resource can be accessed here.
We do realise that this is not the same as meeting together and sharing experiences and ideas, but we hope that it will still be a purposeful use of teachers’ time and will help in the delivery of the Faith Award. Should any colleague have any further questions, or any feedback on the resource itself, we can of course be contacted at mail@sces.uk.com or readviser@sces.uk.com .
