Clackmannanshire Council has advertised the post of Head Teacher in St Mungo’s RC Primary School, ALLOA. Details of the post are avialable on the MyJobScotland website.

The role of the Headteacher is, within the resources available, to conduct the affairs of the school to the benefit of the children and the community it serves, through pursuing objectives and implementing policies by Clackmannanshire Council Education Services under the overall direction of the Head of Education Services.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified GTC registered teachers.  Candidates will be responsible for obtaining approval from the Roman Catholic Church.  This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. You will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Clackmannanshire Council and the cost of this check which will be deducted from your salary.

Dundee City Council has advertised the post of Head Teacher in St Andrew’s RC Primary School, Dundee.

Located to the north west of Dundee with a wide catchment area from St Mary’s in the West to Downfield in the East and includes Kirkton to the North. This a new build school with superb facilities. There is a roll of 400 children, including 60 part time nursery places, and it is currently the largest denominational primary school in Dundee.  The vacant Head Teacher post is currently being covered in an acting capacity by an Education Manager and the successful applicant will work alongside the Manager to ensure an effective transition.

Dundee City Council is willing to consider offering a relocation package where the criteria for the scheme are met. The details of the package are included in the application pack.

The essential requirements for the post are listed on the Person Specification but we are specifically seeking a self motivated leader who can demonstrate their ability to meet the GTCS Standard for Headship, has a commitment to getting it right for every child, has a consultative and participative management style, can effectively communicate and engage with parents, carers and pupils, and can demonstrate a proven record in raising standards of attainment and achievement.

The postholder is required to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups scheme.
