Religious Observance in Catholic Schools

While Religious Observance is a statutory requirement in all Scottish schools, the experiences provided in Catholic schools to nourish the spiritual capacities of young people are distinctive.  Catholic liturgical practice and tradition will largely shape the nature and frequency of religious observance activities in the classroom and in the wider school community.  Schools are encouraged to plan these experiences in ways which will be inclusive of all members of their community and information should be provided to parents in appropriate ways.  The documents which can be downloaded using the links below include the Scottish Government’s guidance as well as supplementary advice provided by SCES.  This may be useful to schools when providing such information in school handbooks, websites etc.
