The Scottish College for Educational Leadership are looking for a highly skilled and enthusiastic individual to lead the development of SCEL’s leadership programmes and activity relating to the Scottish Attainment Challenge and to ensure coherence with SCEL’s wider programme development.
The role will require strong partnership working with the Scottish Attainment Challenge team at Education Scotland and Scottish Government, as well as ongoing liaison and consultation with a range of teacher networks, professional bodies and partner organisations, senior staff in local authorities, their educational establishments and universities.

Following the completion of the recent process to refresh the membership of the SCEL Board of Directors, a further vacancy is now available for a co-opted member to join the SCEL Board.
The SCEL Board, having reviewed its membership and the skills mix which it now reflects, believes that the board might benefit from the recruitment of a co-opted member with skills and experience in one (or more) of the following areas:
- current classroom or middle management teaching experience
- specialist knowledge of financial management
- good knowledge of governance systems drawn from other bodies with similar values
