As we prepare for phase 2 of the pilot scheme for the Pope Francis Faith Award to get underway in Advent, over 130 schools and parishes have enrolled to participate.  This means that over 3,000 young people at the Primary 6 stage will be helped to reflect on the meaning of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and how they can be used to show “signs of love” to others.

Recent briefing meetings for school representatives enabled teachers to consider how to plan for the various actions (in school, at home and in their parishes) to which children will commit.  Teachers were able to take away from these meetings various resources and materials:

  • Teaching pack of materials
  • Resources CD
  • Pope Francis Faith Journals
  • Pope Francis Faith Award wristbands.

Information has been sent to every parish which is supporting one or more schools with the award which will continue througout P6 and into P7.
