HMIe in Scotland has published a report intended to help teachers tackle sectarianism in the classroom. The report, entitled ‘Count Us In: Promoting Understanding and Combating Sectarianism’, outlines initiatives from schools across the country which have helped address the issue, including twinning arrangements between some denominational and non-denominational schools
Shared campuses, where Catholic and non- denominational schools share some of the same facilities, such as sports pitches and dinner halls, are highlighted as having a positive impact. The report also points to individual projects of Catholic and non-denominational schools working together with churches or community groups.
