An important seminar for parents is being organised by the Parental Involvement Working Group of the Catholic Education Commission to enable parents to hear about some key findings from a recent evaluation of the impact of Religious Education in schools across Scotland. The seminar will also give parents an opportunity to share views on this important aspect of Catholic Education and to help schools in their efforts to support young people. The seminar will take place on the morning of Saturday 14th June in the Xavier Centre, Carfin Grotto.
Speakers will include Archbishop Philip Tartaglia, President of the Catholic Education Commission and Joe Walker, Senior Education Officer for Education Scotland. Details can be downloaded from the attachments list below.
Admission to this seminar is free to all participants, but places must be booked in advance, as space is limited by the available accommodation. Parent Councils are encouraged to apply for places for a maximum of two parents. Bookings will be accepted on a first come first served basis and we are hoping for a good turnout.
To book places, please email Julie McGinness at mail@sces.uk.com or phone her on 0141 556 4727. Alternatively, you can post the enclosed booking form to: SCES, 75 Craigpark, Glasgow G31 2HD.
