On Tuesday 2nd September, Head Teachers of Catholic secondary schools participated in an important seminar organised by the Catholic Education Commision (CEC) and the Catholic Head Teachers’ Association of Scotland (CHAS).

The seminar was planned to share developing insights into how Catholic schools are designing their curricular provision to meet the expectations of Curriculum for Excellence while remaining faithful to Church teaching concerning the provsion of religious education.

Colleagues from across Scotland shared their insights and plans for developing school programmes and courses to meet the vision of Curriculum for Excellence in ways which are faithful to the mission of the Cathlic school.

It is anticipated that the main outcome of the seminar will be the production of some advice and suitable timetable models which ensure adequate time for religious education.
