The Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) has published a number of important documents relating to revised and new qualifications in Religious Moral and Philosophical Studies (RMPS) at Higher, National 5, National 4 and Access 3 levels.  Some of these documents are still in draft form and comments are being invited by SQA before 31st October 2011.

Teachers in secondary R.E. Departments are urged to consider these proposals and, where appropriate, to provide feedback to SQA by the appropriate dates.  One particular issue which should be borne in mind by R.E. teachers in Catholic schools relates to the suitability of these course rationales and specifications for pupils in Catholic schools who might wish to undertake RMPS, at least in part, through their core R.E. provision.
