Dr Leonard Franchi is Head of the St. Andrew’s Foundation for Catholic Teacher Education and Director of Catholic Teacher Education in the University of Glasgow. He has taught in a variety of educational settings since 1986 when he graduated from the University of Glasgow. He joined the University’s Faculty of Education in 2005 and in 2013 was appointed as inaugural Head of the St. Andrew’s Foundation for Catholic Teacher Education. This initiative is the hub of the University of Glasgow’s institutional commitment to Catholic teacher education dating from the merger in 1999 between the University and St. Andrew’s College of Education. As Director of Catholic Teacher Education, he is responsible for the design and delivery of all courses in Catholic Religious Education.
