THIS IS OUR FAITH, the new Religious Education syllabus for Catholic schools in Scotland, was launched by the Bishops of Scotland in Edinburgh on Monday 7th November 2011 before an audience of invited guests, including representatives of the main educational organisations, as well as pupils, teachers, parents and clergy.

Young musicians from St Thomas of Aquin’s Secondary school played Scottish music as the audience gathered for the event in the Gillis Centre where visitors were welcomed by young people from Holy Rood and St Augustine’s Secondary schools.  The choir of St Peter’s Primary School led singing during Prayers which were led by Bishop Tartaglia and featured representatives of all the various groups which are part of the Catholic education family.  Thereafter, contributions were made by Bishop Devine, Cardinal O’Brien and Archbishop Conti and two pupils form St Augustine’s Secondary school before guests were presented with copies of the new document.
