283 hills, 1,191 miles, 443,000 ft in 88 days: – the fastest Munro round by an OAP.

On 6 July Gerry McPartlin completed a record-setting sponsored round of the Munros for the David Gemmell Living Memorial Fund.

So far the walk has raised around £35,000. It is hoped that the series of illustrated talks, detailed below, will help him towards his  target of £50,000.

COMING TO A VENUE NEAR YOU SOON:

  • Friday, 12 November, 7.30pm in the St Mary’s RC Cathedral Hall, Edinburgh
  • Thursday, 18 November, 7.30pm at St Aloysius College, Glasgow
  • Thursday, 25 November, 7.30pm at St Thomas of Aquin HS, Edinburgh
  • Friday, 3 December, 7.30pm in the Lochcarron Community Hall

The story of the walk: the motivation, the adventures and misadventures along the way, the landscapes, wild flowers, animals, birds and people encountered. With music, TV news film and many remarkable photos.

The David Gemmell Living Memorial Fund is supporting two projects for L’ARCHE (an ecumenical charity for folk with learning disabilities) in Edinburgh and Kenya. The evening will include information about L’Arche and the two projects.

Entry free: There will be a collection for the David Gemmell Living Memorial Fund.
