Follow-through report
A report on Our Lady of Peace Primary School was published in August 2009, setting out key strengths of the school and main points for action. This follow-through report is based on an inspection visit which was carried out in May 2010.
The school
Our Lady of Peace Primary School serves the Barlanark, Easthall and Wellhouse areas of Glasgow. There have been a number of teaching staff changes since the original inspection.
Particular strengths of the school
- Well-mannered, confident children who are keen to learn.
- Improvement in attainment in reading, writing and mathematics.
- Staff teamwork.
- The commitment of the headteacher and all staff to improving the school.
What happens next?
There is clear evidence of improvement since the original inspection. The school is now performing much better overall and is well placed to continue to improve. The quality of the school’s improvements in performance is now at a satisfactory level or better. HMIE will make no further visits to the school in connection with the inspection report of August 2009.
