Across Scotland various activities have been taking places in schools and parishes to give due attention to the importance of Education in the lives of individuals, families and communities.  This news item features some that have been drawn to our attention.  Please contact SCES with further news that can be featured in this item.

St Andrew’s Secondary School Glasgow

St. Andrew’s has a parish ambassador approach to Education Sunday where young people accompany staff to Mass in their local parish and speak about Catholic Education in the context of the school. This year, they used the presentation provided by SCES on “This Is our Faith” and delivered it superbly.

Taylor High Cluster Mass

Pupils, staff and parents from schools associated with Taylor High school in Motherwell recently celebrated Catholic Education Week with Mass in Christ The King Parish, Holytown where Father Gerry Haddock (PP) was celebrant.  Having recently been extensively refurbished, the church provided a beautiful setting for the Mass.  Pupils from all schools in the cluster contributed to the liturgy and Mr Gerry McCormick, Head Teacher of Taylor High School, spoke to the work of all the schools in promoting THIS IS OUR FAITH.
