Mary’s Meals were really excited to see that the theme for the Jubilee year is Pilgrims of Hope as hope is such an essential part of their work, so they have taken this opportunity to create two new resources for schools relating to the Jubilee year and the work of Mary’s Meals:
- Pilgrims of Hope with Mary’s Meals – for primary schools
- Renewed in Hope – for secondary schools
Both resources can be found at the direct links above or on their jubilee webpage: https://www.marysmeals.org.uk/campaigns/jubilee-2025
Looking ahead, they also have an exciting collaboration planned for Lent with Mark10 Mission. During Lent, their weekly videos exploring the Sunday readings will link to the work of Mary’s Meals, suggesting prayer, fasting and almsgiving activities to the primary school classes watching along. As you will probably already know, the Mark10 videos are a fantastic and accessible resource for primary schools so THEY are so pleased to be working together. The videos will be uploaded weekly on the Mark10Mission website during Lent and will be for age 8-12 year olds https://www.themark10mission.co.uk/
Finally, you might have heard that their founder Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow was invited to speak at the Vatican last week at the world leaders summit on children’s rights! They were so honoured that Mary’s Meals was included in the event. Magnus’ speech is available online if you would like to watch it. https://www.marysmeals.org.uk/news/magnus-macfarlane-barrows-speech-at-the-vatican
