The school

St Margaret’s RC Primary School is a denominational school. It serves the Loanhead area of Midlothian and is located on a new shared campus with Loanhead Primary School and other partners. The roll was 40 when the inspection was carried out in June 2011. Children’s attendance was in line with the national average in 2009/2010.

• Improve the curriculum by taking better account of the design principles of Curriculum for Excellence.
• Ensure tasks and activities meet the leaning needs of all children.
• Develop approaches to self-evaluation which lead to improvements in children’s learning and achievement.
