Theme for Catholic Education Week 2011

Catholic Education Week will be celebrated in schools and parishes from Sunday 20th to Saturday 26th February 2011.

This year’s theme is taken from the words of Pope Benedict XVI during his vist to the UK in September 2010 when he spoke to young people about ‘Grow in holiness – become saints of the 21st century’.

The purpose of Catholic Education Week is to highlight the significance of education, not only for young people but for society as a whole.  Students, parents, teachers and others are asked to reflect on their own roles in the education process –  at home, in school, in the local parish and in other educational settings.

SCES will provide support materials for schools, parishes and families to assist them in their own efforts to celebrate the significance of education.  These materials will be available by mid-January 2011.
