Over 4,000 young people from schools in the Diocese of Motherwell gathered with their teachers at Carfin Grotto on Friday 13th September 2013 to celebrate Mass with Bishop Joseph Toal, Bishop Joseph Devine and priests of the Diocese.  This was the third year of this impressive event, established following the visit of Pope Benedict XVI to Scotland in 2010.  The purpose of the gathering was well expressed in the words of the Processional hymn:

“We tell the sacred story, we sing the glory of yesterday.  We tell the sacred story, One who has shown us the sacred way.”
